  • phily wedding

Well, ssk. and lil L. and I went up to see our good friend get married in Philly today.  At the wedding we saw none other than GrooveJunky, and Pochoccodoc which was great fun (too bad pochoccodoc's wife and kids weren't able to make it though :(  .  We also saw a ton of other people as well so it was great catching up on old times.  Even though I sometimes read what is going on in people's lives through xanga, it is always nice to see people in person and see how they are doing, and changing.  Either way, congrats to cry and hyun on their lovely wedding.  Hope to see all of you soon in person as well ;)

  • shucks!!

I was thinking about using my ol twelve string for praise again this year.  However, because it's sometimes tough to keep in tune, I decided to turn it termporarily into a 6 string.  In the process, I noticed that I had a fair amount of fret wear which kind of sucks kuz I'm not sure if it's worth fixing.  What made it worse was that I was doing some searching on the web, and found out that people actually use my guitar.  Looks like the most famous person who uses my guitar is none other than the Boss.  I guess if he can "settle" with my guitar, I suppose I should too.  SHUCKS!!

  • already half a year

I can't believe that we've been in ol balto for 6 months already.  It certainly doesn't feel that long.  I have finished a sixth of my 3 year fellowship already.  Not only, that, we have been here for almost have of L's life.  I wish that I could say that I learned a ton and am now a FULL FLEDGED PULMONARY FELLOW, which I suppose I am, but gollee, I certainly don't feel like it sometimes.  There is sooo much stuff that I don't know and so many things I don't have a lot of experience in.

Oh well, lil l, and ssk. make it bearable.  I get home and it's so exciting seeing l.  Of course, if I get home late, or I work for the weekend, he sort of forgets me :(  but eventually he comes around.

We have decided on a church that we are happy with and have really tried to get hooked into, so we thank God for that.

Oh yeah, and for any instrument junkies out there, here is a tidbit:  I eventually sold that old Korg 01/w and picked up a second hand Korg triton Studio and there was great rejoicing.  Problem is, I busted out my old 12 string guitar and realize that I probably should pick up a nice 6 string guitar at some point but alas, we are fairly financially challenged for now which is fine.  However, it doesn't stop me from planning out the purchase of a nice probably second hand Taylor 310 vs Larrivee D03 or some other solid wood guitar.  If I could afford it, I've really been interested in Del Langejan's guitars or especially Applegate guitars, but WAY to pricy, perhaps forever.  We'll see.  Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!!!!

  • Don't scratch Daddy's eyes out!!

For the last half year,  L has always been playfully grasping at  my face with his nails so I always close my eyes and playfully say "don't scratch daddy's eyes out!!"  Sadly enough, yesterday, we had almost the opposite event happen.  I was holding him while we were getting ready for dinner at Paster Brian's church's 10 year anniversary.  I guess I was getting excited about something while I was talking to a friend I hadn't seen in ages when I accidentally scraped L's eye with the jubo I was holding.

At first he didn't react and had a slightly oblivious (his usual) look to his face.  When the realization hit, he began a small whimper which quickly escalated to a cry.  Luckily for me and for him, he was quickly comforted and stopped crying after around half a minute.  I then looked at his eye and thought it looked ok.  Of course, the nerdy doctor friend I was talking to said "if he had a corneal abrasion, he'd probably be tearing" which is what I thought too, so I thought we were pretty safe.  Of course, this didn't stop me from feeling absolutely terrible.  Here was my "angelic" son who was minding his own business, and I just came around and almost permanently injured him for no reason.  I try so hard to protect him from all these evil things in this world and then things like this happen.

Oh well, God has been gracious so far and has blessed L's first year.  I hope he continues to grow and mature so pray for us that we'll be able watch after him.
